• long grass and sheds: Pause gardening, storage or maintenance work around long grass and sheds after a sighting.

A sighting does not establish that there is a nest or more than one snake. Avoid assumptions about species, numbers or where the animal has gone; preserve the last reliable observation instead.

• Move to a secure position before making calls or taking photographs.
• Keep pets restrained indoors and prevent access to orchards.
• Tell Harley whether it moved toward orchards or away from the property.
• Leave sheds, wall gaps and vegetation undisturbed once the snake disappears.
• If someone may have been bitten, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and follow the operator’s instructions.
