Pymble sightings often involve layered gardens, stonework or pool equipment. Keep the area undisturbed so the last known position remains useful.

When calling from Pymble, explain whether the animal is indoors or outside, whether it remains visible, and whether children, pets, customers, livestock or workers are nearby. Harley can then assess the immediate risk and the safest access.

Because Pymble includes large established gardens, creeks, leaf litter, stone walls, schools and pool equipment areas, a short description of gates, levels, shared access and nearby people or animals helps Harley plan the attendance.

Steep gardens, bushland boundaries and layered decks can make following a snake unsafe; remain on stable ground and report its direction instead.

• large established gardens: Where large established gardens is shared, ask one person to control access and another to meet Harley.
• creeks: Pause gardening, storage or maintenance work around creeks after a sighting.
• leaf litter: Identify the safest gate, path or building entrance leading toward leaf litter without approaching the animal.
• stone walls: Keep people and pets away from stone walls until the sighting has been assessed.
• schools: Tell Harley whether schools is open, enclosed, elevated or difficult to access from the street.
• pool equipment areas: Use pool equipment areas as a landmark when explaining the last known position; do not move closer to inspect it.

A sighting does not establish that there is a nest or more than one snake. Avoid assumptions about species, numbers or where the animal has gone; preserve the last reliable observation instead.

• Stop activity near large established gardens and move away on a clear path.
• Close internal doors only when that can be done without moving toward the snake.
• A safe zoomed photograph may help, but the location is more important than a close image.
• Avoid home-made traps and never block the snake inside a confined corner.
• If someone may have been bitten, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and follow the operator’s instructions.
