Parramatta call-outs may involve a busy managed site. Keep pedestrians and staff clear while one contact person coordinates building or park access.

When calling from Parramatta, explain whether the animal is indoors or outside, whether it remains visible, and whether children, pets, customers, livestock or workers are nearby. Harley can then assess the immediate risk and the safest access.

Because Parramatta includes apartment precincts, commercial buildings, river-side parks, schools, car parks and construction areas, a short description of gates, levels, shared access and nearby people or animals helps Harley plan the attendance.

For warehouses, homes and industrial yards, stop work in the affected zone and keep forklifts, vehicles and staff away.

• apartment precincts: Tell Harley whether apartment precincts is open, enclosed, elevated or difficult to access from the street.
• commercial buildings: Use commercial buildings as a landmark when explaining the last known position; do not move closer to inspect it.
• river-side parks: If the snake travels toward river-side parks, note which side it entered and leave the area undisturbed.
• schools: Do not place hands, tools or cameras into gaps around schools; report only what you can see safely.
• car parks: Where car parks is shared, ask one person to control access and another to meet Harley.
• construction areas: Pause gardening, storage or maintenance work around construction areas after a sighting.

A sighting does not establish that there is a nest or more than one snake. Avoid assumptions about species, numbers or where the animal has gone; preserve the last reliable observation instead.

• Move to a secure position before making calls or taking photographs.
• Bring children and pets inside, or move them to another secure part of the Parramatta property.
• Note its direction of travel rather than following it through vegetation or storage.
• Leave sheds, wall gaps and vegetation undisturbed once the snake disappears.
• If someone may have been bitten, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and follow the operator’s instructions.
