Snake Catcher Rozelle

Rozelle’s narrow streets and rear access can make arrival directions important. Confirm the nearest safe entrance without blocking the snake’s path.

When calling from Rozelle, explain whether the animal is indoors or outside, whether it remains visible, and whether children, pets, customers, livestock or workers are nearby. Harley can then assess the immediate risk and the safest access.

Because Rozelle includes terrace courtyards, foreshore parks, stone walls, garages, renovation sites and strata gardens, a short description of gates, levels, shared access and nearby people or animals helps Harley plan the attendance.

On compact blocks and shared properties, isolate the immediate room, courtyard or common area without searching adjoining storage.

• terrace courtyards: Where terrace courtyards is shared, ask one person to control access and another to meet Harley.
• foreshore parks: Pause gardening, storage or maintenance work around foreshore parks after a sighting.
• stone walls: Identify the safest gate, path or building entrance leading toward stone walls without approaching the animal.
• garages: Keep people and pets away from garages until the sighting has been assessed.
• renovation sites: Tell Harley whether renovation sites is open, enclosed, elevated or difficult to access from the street.
• strata gardens: Use strata gardens as a landmark when explaining the last known position; do not move closer to inspect it.

A sighting does not establish that there is a nest or more than one snake. Avoid assumptions about species, numbers or where the animal has gone; preserve the last reliable observation instead.

• Move to a secure position before making calls or taking photographs.
• Keep pets restrained indoors and prevent access to foreshore parks.
• Tell Harley whether it moved toward foreshore parks or away from the property.
• Do not lift timber, equipment, pots or stored materials to search for it.
• If someone may have been bitten, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and follow the operator’s instructions.
