A Willoughby snake-removal call produced a photograph that looked almost tailor-made for Snakes in the City. The slender green-and-yellow snake in Harley's hand closely matched the cheerful snake wrapped around the company's vehicle logo. The animal appeared to be a Common Tree Snake, also widely called a Green Tree Snake.

A harmless species—but identification still matters

Common Tree Snakes are non-venomous, agile reptiles that can appear green, olive, brown, blue-grey or combinations of those colours. They are often found around gardens, trees, sheds and roof spaces where frogs and small reptiles may be present. Their varied colour is a useful reminder that no resident should decide a snake is harmless from a quick glance.

Local knowledge on the Lower North Shore

Harley regularly attends Willoughby, Chatswood, Artarmon, Northbridge and nearby suburbs. Familiarity with local property types and common shelter points helps him ask useful questions before arrival: whether the snake is indoors or outside, whether it remains visible and what cover lies nearby. Identification is confirmed from safe observation and handling—not from branding, colour or a guess.

A memorable photograph from serious work

The matching colours make this call-out memorable, but the work behind the photograph was professional reptile removal. Harley assessed the animal, safely contained it and prepared it for humane relocation. The distinctive vehicle may be easy to recognise around the North Shore; the service is built on more than a decade of field experience and NSW General Licence MWL000102655.

If any snake appears at a Willoughby home or workplace, keep people and pets away and call Harley on 0411 103 488. Do not attempt to confirm the species by moving closer.
