A Manly sighting may occur close to visitors or customers. Create a wide safety boundary and give Harley a clear street, building or reserve landmark.

When calling from Manly, explain whether the animal is indoors or outside, whether it remains visible, and whether children, pets, customers, livestock or workers are nearby. Harley can then assess the immediate risk and the safest access.

Because Manly includes coastal reserves, apartment gardens, hospitality venues, rocky slopes, garages and busy public areas, a short description of gates, levels, shared access and nearby people or animals helps Harley plan the attendance.

Coastal bushland, rock shelves and dense gardens can limit visibility; watch only from a clear, stable position.

• coastal reserves: If the snake travels toward coastal reserves, note which side it entered and leave the area undisturbed.
• apartment gardens: Do not place hands, tools or cameras into gaps around apartment gardens; report only what you can see safely.
• hospitality venues: Tell Harley whether hospitality venues is open, enclosed, elevated or difficult to access from the street.
• rocky slopes: Use rocky slopes as a landmark when explaining the last known position; do not move closer to inspect it.
• garages: Identify the safest gate, path or building entrance leading toward garages without approaching the animal.
• busy public areas: Keep people and pets away from busy public areas until the sighting has been assessed.

A sighting does not establish that there is a nest or more than one snake. Avoid assumptions about species, numbers or where the animal has gone; preserve the last reliable observation instead.

• Step back slowly and leave a clear route for the animal to move away.
• Bring children and pets inside, or move them to another secure part of the Manly property.
• Tell Harley whether it moved toward apartment gardens or away from the property.
• Do not lift timber, equipment, pots or stored materials to search for it.
• If someone may have been bitten, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and follow the operator’s instructions.
