Snake Catcher Belrose

Belrose combines bush-edge homes with commercial sites. Do not follow a snake into rockwork, under a deck or across a bush boundary; mark the last safe viewing point.

When calling from Belrose, explain whether the animal is indoors or outside, whether it remains visible, and whether children, pets, customers, livestock or workers are nearby. Harley can then assess the immediate risk and the safest access.

Local settings include bushland reserves, sloping gardens, business parks, schools, decks and rock walls. The priority is not to search each space; it is to keep the immediate area clear and preserve safe access.

Coastal bushland, rock shelves and dense gardens can limit visibility; watch only from a clear, stable position.

• bushland reserves: Do not place hands, tools or cameras into gaps around bushland reserves; report only what you can see safely.
• sloping gardens: If the snake travels toward sloping gardens, note which side it entered and leave the area undisturbed.
• business parks: Use business parks as a landmark when explaining the last known position; do not move closer to inspect it.
• schools: Tell Harley whether schools is open, enclosed, elevated or difficult to access from the street.
• decks: Keep people and pets away from decks until the sighting has been assessed.
• rock walls: Identify the safest gate, path or building entrance leading toward rock walls without approaching the animal.

A sighting does not establish that there is a nest or more than one snake. Avoid assumptions about species, numbers or where the animal has gone; preserve the last reliable observation instead.

• Do not surround the snake; let one calm observer remain well back.
• Ask workers, visitors and neighbours to use another entrance or area.
• Keep visual contact only while you can remain on stable, open ground.
• Do not use garden tools, brooms or containers in an attempted capture.
• If someone may have been bitten, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and follow the operator’s instructions.
