Collaroy’s sloping properties may have several access levels. Stay on a stable path and tell Harley whether entry is easiest from the street, garage or rear lane.

When calling from Collaroy, explain whether the animal is indoors or outside, whether it remains visible, and whether children, pets, customers, livestock or workers are nearby. Harley can then assess the immediate risk and the safest access.

Because Collaroy includes coastal slopes, rock gardens, retaining walls, garages, pool areas and bush-linked reserves, a short description of gates, levels, shared access and nearby people or animals helps Harley plan the attendance.

Coastal bushland, rock shelves and dense gardens can limit visibility; watch only from a clear, stable position.

• coastal slopes: Identify the safest gate, path or building entrance leading toward coastal slopes without approaching the animal.
• rock gardens: Keep people and pets away from rock gardens until the sighting has been assessed.
• retaining walls: Where retaining walls is shared, ask one person to control access and another to meet Harley.
• garages: Pause gardening, storage or maintenance work around garages after a sighting.
• pool areas: If the snake travels toward pool areas, note which side it entered and leave the area undisturbed.
• bush-linked reserves: Do not place hands, tools or cameras into gaps around bush-linked reserves; report only what you can see safely.

A sighting does not establish that there is a nest or more than one snake. Avoid assumptions about species, numbers or where the animal has gone; preserve the last reliable observation instead.

• Move to a secure position before making calls or taking photographs.
• Keep pets restrained indoors and prevent access to rock gardens.
• Tell Harley whether it moved toward rock gardens or away from the property.
• Do not lift timber, equipment, pots or stored materials to search for it.
• If someone may have been bitten, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and follow the operator’s instructions.
